Box Score 4 GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's tennis team dominated the UMAC this week, going 4-0 throughout the week with three conference wins.
How it Happened:
The Panthers started the week with a 5-2 win over Principia, picking up the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Singles 3-6 pushed the Panthers to the victory, with
Emily Kowalke collecting a gritty win at No. 3.
The following day Greenville had a 4-0 win over Westminster, competing in four singles matches and taking dominant wins in all of them.
On Thursday, the Panthers picked up a conference win against Webster through a forfeited match before crushing Millikin on Friday, picking up a dominant 7-0 victory against a shorthanded Big Blue roster. With only five athletes available, Millikin was forced to default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, Irlanda Oliver and Lily Gregory led the way with a 6-2 win at No. 1 while Emily Kowalke and Jaidyn Goode followed with a 6-3 victory at No. 2 to secure the doubles point.
Singles play was equally dominant. Oliver opened with a strong 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1, followed by Lanie Carder earning a 6-0, 6-0 result at No. 2. Kowalke added another straight set win at No. 3 and Lily Gregory secured a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 4. The most competitive match came at No. 5, where Evie Johnson battled through a three-set win, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) to secure the Panthers' shut out win.
