MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Greenville women's tennis turned in a strong showing at the UMAC Conference Tournament, advancing to the championship match after a dominant semifinal victory.
How it Happened:
The Panthers opened the tournament with an impressive 4-0 sweep over the University of Northwestern in the semifinals. Greenville controlled the match from the start, taking all three doubles points in convincing fashion. The duos of
Irlanda Oliver and
Emily Kowalke,
Lanie Carder and
Lily Gregory, and
Lauren Brannon with
Jaidyn Goode each secured decisive wins to give Greenville early momentum.
That momentum carried into singles play, where Oliver set the tone with a commanding straight-set win at No. 1. Kowalke and Gregory followed with strong performances of their own, each winning in straight sets to clinch the team victory and send Greenville to the title match.
In the championship against UW-Superior, Greenville again started strong by claiming the doubles point. Oliver and Kowalke cruised at No. 1, while Carder and Gregory battled to a 7-5 win at No. 2.
Despite the early advantage, the Panthers were unable to carry that momentum into singles play, ultimately falling 4-1. Still, Greenville's run to the championship highlighted a resilient and talented squad, with standout performances throughout the lineup and valuable postseason experience gained.
