GREENVILLE, Ill. – The women's tennis team pulled off a 5-2 victory on senior night, earning their seventh straight win to close out the regular season.
How it Happened:
Greenville came out slow in doubles play, taking losses on Courts No. 1 and No. 3 and dropping the doubles point. However, senior
Lanie Carder, along with sophomore
Lily Gregory, claimed a decisive 6-0 win on Court No. 2.
The Panthers rebounded in singles, earning victories on the top five courts.
Irlanda Oliver's straight-set performance on Court No. 1 set the pace. Carder finished out her senior day with a 6-1, 7-6 win, and
Emily Kowalke showed grit on Court No. 3, battling to a three-set victory.
Gregory earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 4 spot and Evie Johnson closed out the match with a come-from-behind 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5) win at No. 5.
