ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Greenville men's track and field delivered several strong performances at Augustana (IL)'s Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier this week, highlighted by multiple personal-best marks and nationally ranked times.
How it Happened:
Neko Gibson continued his standout season in the sprints, running a 10.66 in the 100-meter prelims to qualify and move to No. 82 nationally in NCAA Division III. Greenville also saw impressive depth in the event from freshmen
Chase Turner and
Gavin Baldwin, who posted times of 10.99 and 11.00, respectively. Turner also competed in the 200m, running a 22.14 for 28th.Â
The Panthers excelled in the 400 meters as
Noel Andino recorded a personal-best 48.99, while freshman
Ahmadjae Fenton followed closely with a personal-best 49.27.
Ben Wilcoxen also posted a season-best in the event, running a 51.36.Â
In the field events, Tim Lofton delivered a breakout performance in the long jump, placing sixth with a personal-best leap of 6.82 meters, while
Gabe Todd followed in eleventh (6.32m).
Will Cress added a season-best mark in the high jump with a 1.86m showing.
Christian Duplayee added an impressive showing in the pole vault, finishing twelfth with a 4.11m vault.Â
Greenville also posted a strong showing in the 4x100 relay, clocking a season-best 41.18 to move to No. 33 nationally in Division III.
