ELSAH, Ill. – The Greenville men's track and field team claimed the SLIAC Indoor Championship in dominant fashion, capturing first place with 177 total points to secure the conference title.
How it Happened:
The Panthers delivered standout performances across the board, highlighted by
Keenan Powell's individual championship in the triple jump (14.55m) and a runner-up finish in the long jump (6.80m).
Eric Mitchell also earned gold in the weight throw (14.05m) and added a second-place finish in the shot put (13.61m).
On the track, Ty Kellum sprinted to a conference title in the 60m dash (6.86s) and added a third-place finish in the 200m.
Will Patzia won the 800m in 1:58.98, while
Noel Andino (2nd, 51.11s) and
Jaylin Morrow (3rd, 51.48s) paced Greenville in the 400m.
The Panthers capped the meet with a first-place finish in the 4x400 relay (3:31.02).
Additional podium finishes from
Neko Gibson, Christian Duplayee, and
Will Cress fueled the championship effort, as Greenville's depth and balance powered another decisive conference victory.
