JACKSONVILLE, Ill. & TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -Â The Panthers delivered a series of gritty performances this weekend, competing Friday evening at the Hilltop Invite hosted by Illinois College and then in the Indiana State Open on Saturday.
How it Happened:
On Friday, Greenville was led by
Jason Stringfellow and
Will Cress who tied for tenth in the high jump, recording a 1.73m leap.
Christian Duplayee had an impressive showing in the pole vault, ending with a 4.01m mark, while
Ashton James contributed in the 400m and 200m, running a 55.49 in the 400 and a 24.52 in the 200.
Andrew Thomason closed out the meet with an 11:03.12 3000m run.Â
Saturday was highlighted by strong sprint and field event finishes with senior
Noel Andino leading the way. Andino placed fourth in the 400m, clocking a 51.84 to score five team points.
Ben Wilcoxen followed with a sixth-place time of 52.26, while
Ben Hornaday added a top-ten finish at 53.96.
The Panthers showcased depth in the 200 meters, placing four runners between 13th and 16th. Jaylin Morrow paced the group in 23.62, with Jamarion Cobbins, Collin Robinson, and Chase Turner close behind.
In the field events, Gabe Todd soared to fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.40 meters, while freshman Jared Klein placed seventh in the triple jump at 11.54 meters.
Greenville's balanced effort across sprints and jumps continues to build momentum heading into the championship stretch of the indoor season.
