WILMORE, Ky. - The women's track and field team had an impressive showing at the NCCAA National Championships, taking third with 92 points. The Panthers brought home two national event titles along with several podium finishes.
How it Happened:
Madison Kacevicius crushed it, taking the title in the triple jump with a 10.92m leap while also finishing second in the long jump (5.59m) and fifth in the 100m hurdles (15.35s).Â
Rebekkah Yunck also earned an event title in the javelin, throwing for a first-place mark of 41.69m.Â
Other notable field performances included
Jada Richards' triple jump (4th) and long jump (5th) with
Arielle Lawrence earning a spot on the podium in the hammer (3rd - 41.43m).
Lily Towell followed Lawrence with a 38.51m throw for fifth place. In the pole vault,
Katie Farrow took third with a 3.05m vault!Â
On the track, GU's relay teams carried; the 4x100Â and 4x400 teams both took third while the 4x800 team placed fourth.Â
The Weishaar sisters showed out in the 400m with Abby taking fourth (1:00.11) and Gabby following at sixth (1:00.63).
Norah Atkins and
Natali Roth represented in the 1500m as Atkins ran a 4:58.83 for fourth and Roth took sixth with a 5:03.76.Â
