CASEYVILLE, Ill. - The men's golf team wrapped up its first season back with a gritty performance at the SLIAC Championships. The team finished twelfth, beating out Eureka, with John Heater at the forefront.
How it Happened:
The Panthers shot an 1100 (+236) over three rounds of eighteen at Far Oaks. The course was a par-72, 6,594 yard layout that tested Greenville throughout. GU posted a 369 in rounds one and two, while improving to a 362 in round three.
Heater led the Panthers at the 46th spot, collecting a 251 (+35) with his best performance in round two (79).
Ryan Jackson followed with a 265 (+49), saving his best for the last round as he shot just five over with a 77.
In 57th,
Carlos Ziesecke posted a 293 (+77) with a first-round best of 89. Jose Galanton Zerpa rounded out the Panthers' scoring with a 298 (+82), coming out strong in the first round with a 97.
Sam Molitor also competed, shooting a 313 (+97).
