JACKSONVILLE, Ill. & TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Panthers delivered a series of gritty performances this weekend, competing Friday evening at the Hilltop Invite hosted by Illinois College and then in the Indiana State Open on Saturday.
How it Happened:
On Friday, Greenville was led in the pole vault by Katie Farrow, who cleared 3.21 meters to secure a fifth-place finish. Teammate Sara Avalos added a seventh-place mark at 2.31 meters, capping a strong showing in the event. Avalos also impressed on the track, placing sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.91 seconds.
In the throwing events, Arielle Lawrence powered her way to sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.48 meters, highlighting Greenville's strength in the field. Brittnee Lange added experience in the shot put, while Lola Schlarmann battled in the 800 meters, crossing in 2:43.58.
On Saturday, the Panthers finished tenth in the ISU Open, collecting a scoring performance from Madison Kacevicius.Â
Jazmyn Harmon led the Panthers on the track with a ninth-place finish in the 200 meters, clocking 27.43 seconds. Abby Weishaar (27.60) and Lera Schmeink (27.94) followed closely behind to give Greenville three runners in the top eleven.
Kacevicius impressed in the long jump, placing seventh with a leap of 5.19 meters.
In distance events, senior Norah Atkins paced the mile field for Greenville, finishing 10th in 5:25.03. Raven Vance added a solid 2:35.10 in the 800 meters.
The Panthers showcased depth and determination as they continue building momentum in the indoor season.
