CHARLESTON, Ill. - The women's track and field team turned in a strong all-around performance Saturday at the John Craft Invitational, competing against a deep field at Eastern Illinois' Lantz Fieldhouse. The Panthers were highlighted by multiple top-eight performers and consistent efforts across sprints, jumps, and throws.
How it Happened:
Sophomore
TyKiaza Jones led the way in the hurdles, placing third in the 60-meter hurdles finals with a time of 9.44 after advancing through prelims.
Senior
Norah Atkins continued her steady indoor season, clocking a mark of 5:36.05 in the mile.
Freshman Abby Weishaar added a time in the 400 meters at 1:02.12.
In the field events, junior
Jazmyn Harmon posted a remarkable leap of 10.33 meters in the triple jump, while freshman
Arielle Lawrence recorded a mark of 12.63 meters in the weight throw. Greenville also saw solid freshman contributions from
Brittnee Lange and Gabby Weishaar signaling continued growth as the indoor season progresses.
