BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The women's track and field team opened its indoor season with an encouraging display at the Illinois Wesleyan Titan First Chance Meet, headlined by a first-place finish from freshman
Brittnee Lange in the shot put. The Panthers showcased depth across multiple events, with standout performances from newcomer
Jada Richards and
Madison Kacevicius helping set a strong early-season foundation.
How it Happened:
In her first collegiate outing, Lange threw for 10.8 meters in shot put to take the event title.
Richards placed third in the triple jump with a 10.8m leap, while also picking up a fourth-place finish in the long jump (5.17m). She also took eighth in the 60m dash with a 8.23s time after qualifying with a 8.10s.
Kacevicius represented GU in the long jump, taking third with a 5.33m jump and posted a 10.18m in the triple jump for eighth place.
In the 60m hurdles, she claimed fourth (9.65s) with
TyKiaza Jones close behind her in fifth place (9.78s).Â
Jazmyn Harmon got sixth place in triple jump (10.27m) while placing seventh in the long jump (5.02m).Â
In pole vault,
Katie Farrow ranked fifth with a 2.82m mark.Â
Arielle Lawrence had a 12.48m weight throw to take sixth place, and Abby Weishaar rounded out the Panthers scoring with a 27.29s 200m dash for seventh place.Â

The Panthers don't compete again until the New Year when they travel to Eastern Illinois for a meet on January 17th.Â
