GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Greenville University athletic department announced the hiring of Desirae Yost as its director of athletic operations and communication.

Yost will serve as a liaison between the athletics department, its conferences, and national governing bodies and oversee media relations and game management for all Panther Athletics sports. She will manage the athletics website, greenvillepanthers.com, and produce regular content to enhance the brand and promote student-athletes and coaches.

Yost received the full-time position after spending the 2023-24 year as athletics liaison in the admissions office with sports information and event management duties in soccer, gymnastics, and softball.

Yost graduated from Greenville University in 2023 and played four years of Panther softball under coaches Buddy Foster, Angela Sheets, and Ivan Estevez. She hit .303 with nine home runs and 74 RBI during her career.

She received a 2022 all-conference honor and was chosen as GU's selection on the 2023 SLIAC all-sportsmanship team. She also collected three recognitions on the SLIAC all-academic team.

"I cannot be any more excited to have Desirae come on board in this critical position for the Athletic Department," said B.J. Schneck, director of athletics. "Over the past year, she has impressed us with her ability to manage the sports information and event management needs for five Panther sports while maintaining equally high standards in her work in the admissions office."

Yost succeeds Schneck who held the position since 2001.
