ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Greenville University women's soccer team opened the 2026 season on the road Tuesday night, falling 14-0 to nationally ranked Washington University in St. Louis at Francis Olympic Field.
WashU struck early, scoring just 26 seconds into the match, and built a 9-0 halftime advantage before adding five second-half goals. The Bears finished with a 30-0 advantage in shots and a 13-0 edge in corner kicks.
Despite the difficult result, goalkeeper Kadynce Jones battled throughout the evening, recording six saves while playing all 90 minutes. Defenders Brady Unger, Peyton Turner, and Ashlyn Wuebbels each logged the full match as Greenville continued to compete against a relentless WashU attack.
The Panthers utilized several players throughout the contest, gaining valuable experience against one of the strongest programs in Division III soccer. Greenville will look to build on the lessons learned from its season opener as the team continues non-conference play.
The Panthers (0-1)Â will aim to regroup and continue their development as they prepare for their next match at Wheaton against Dominican on Friday afternoon.
