GREENVILLE, Ill. – Greenville softball put together a dominant offensive showcase Monday, sweeping Eureka in convincing fashion with 11-3 and 17-0 short-game victories.
How it Happened:
In game one, the Panthers broke things open with a six-run third inning to cruise to an 11-3 win.
Makenna Budde led the charge with three RBIs, while
Emma Williams added a three-run double to highlight the big inning.
Emma Longcor and
Ashlyn Colvis each tallied two hits and multiple RBIs, as Greenville capitalized on Eureka miscues throughout the game. In the circle,
Lauren Kehl delivered a complete-game effort, allowing just four hits while striking out four to earn the win.
Greenville's momentum carried into game two, where the Panthers erupted for 16 runs across the third and fourth innings alone.
Budde stayed hot with a three-run home run and four RBIs, while Longcor turned in a perfect 4-for-4 performance with a triple and two RBIs. Colvis also contributed four RBIs as part of a relentless offensive attack that piled up 15 hits.
On the mound,
Kayla Kocher was dominant, tossing four shutout innings to secure her eighth win of the season.
With the sweep, Greenville showcased its depth, power, and consistency, continuing a strong start to conference play.
