Softball takes conference doubleheader over Westminster

FULTON, Mo. – Greenville softball delivered a dominant doubleheader sweep over Westminster on Saturday, exploding offensively in 13-3 and 15-2 victories.

How it Happened:

In game one, Greenville wasted no time setting the tone with a five-run first inning. Emma Longcor sparked the rally with an RBI triple, while Makenna Budde added a two-run home run. The Panthers piled on 15 hits, highlighted by multi-hit efforts from Longcor, Anna Cox, Budde, and Kelsey Martlage.

Cox and Martlage each homered as part of a six-run fourth inning that broke the game open. Sarah Salas earned the win in the circle, tossing four strong innings with six strikeouts while allowing just one run.

Game two followed a similar script as Greenville's bats stayed hot, collecting 16 hits in a 15-2 win. Longcor continued her standout day, going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Budde added another two-run blast, while contributions came throughout the lineup, including two hits each from Bloomer, Martlage, Emma Williams, and Aylexis Otto.

A seven-run seventh inning sealed the victory. Kayla Kocher went the distance in game two, allowing two runs on eight hits to secure the win.

Greenville's explosive offense and strong pitching powered an impressive sweep.
