GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday at H.J. Long Gymnasium, opening the day with a competitive battle against St. Norbert before earning an impressive 3–1 victory over Franklin in the afternoon.
How it Happened:
In the morning match, the Panthers pushed St. Norbert early before falling 3–1. Greenville showed its offensive potential in the opening set, claiming a thrilling 28–26 win behind strong attacking and balanced play.
Tyrone Ealy led the Panthers with 16 kills while adding three digs and two blocks.
Cortez Christmas contributed eight kills and
Sam Molitor added seven.
Greenville recorded 44 total kills in the match, with
Kevin McGhee Jr. distributing 21 assists and
John Heater V adding 16 more. Defensively,
Jay Ramirez anchored the back row with a match-high 11 digs.
Greenville bounced back in the afternoon with a strong 3–1 victory over Franklin. The Panthers captured the first two sets 26–24 and 25–22, demonstrating efficient offense and solid defense.
Carson Hulsey and Christmas paced the attack with 11 kills each, while Ealy added 10. McGhee Jr. orchestrated the offense with an impressive 42 assists, helping Greenville post a .306 team hitting percentage.
Andrew Weir dominated at the net with seven blocks, and Ramirez again led the defense with 10 digs.
The Panthers improved to 5–7 overall with the win, showing balanced offense and strong defensive play as they continue their season.
