BLOOMINGTON & CHICAGO, Ill. - The Panthers were on the road for their first official matches of the spring season, traveling north to Millikin and continuing on to Illinois Institute of Technology. The Panthers lost a close 3-4 decision to Millikin before claiming a hard-fought 5-2 victory over the Scarlet Hawks.
How it Happened:
Greenville got off to a slow start, dropping the doubles point after falling in all three doubles matches. The Panthers responded well in singles play, earning victories on courts No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5.
Junior
Jean Sanabria picked up a straight-set win on court No. 1, defeating his opponent 6–3, 6–3.
Sophomore
Jade Dynamic battled through a three-set match to secure a 6–2, 4–6, 1–0 (10–4) victory on court No. 3, while
Noah Garcia Barlagne added another point for Greenville with a hard-fought 6–2, 2–6, 1–0 (10–6) win on court No. 5.
Despite the loss, Greenville showed promise after a slow start and turned things around as they headed to Illinois Tech.
In Chicago, the Panthers dropped the doubles point after narrowly falling in all three matches. Greenville responded with an impressive performance in singles play, winning five of six matches, including four that were decided in third-set tiebreakers.
