Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men's tennis falls 5-2 to Hendrix

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Greenville men's tennis team battled through a tough nonconference matchup on Saturday, falling 5-2 to Hendrix at the Edwardsville YMCA Meyer Center.

How it Happened:

The Panthers opened the afternoon with strong doubles play, earning two victories to take the early advantage. At No. 2 doubles, Jade Dynamic and Francisco Trujillo delivered a confident 6-3 win, while Noah Garcia Barlagne and Kai Gustafson clinched a dramatic tiebreak victory at No. 3 doubles, 7-6 (7-4). Despite a narrow loss at No. 1 doubles, Greenville carried momentum into singles play.

In singles, Garcia Barlagne continued his standout day with a composed straight-set win at No. 5, 6-4, 6-2, securing Greenville's second point of the match. Several other flights featured competitive sets, including tight battles at the top of the lineup.

Greenville showed grit across the lineup against a strong Hendrix squad, with the doubles teams setting a positive tone and multiple matches coming down to key points. The Panthers will look to build on the effort as they continue their spring schedule.
