GREENVILLE, Ill. – Greenville men's volleyball showed stretches of sharp play Monday night, but ultimately fell in straight sets to unbeaten St. Mary-Woods, 25-19, 25-22, 25-14, inside H.J. Long Gymnasium.
How it Happened:
After dropping the opening set, the Panthers responded with their best volleyball in the second. Greenville hit .414 in the frame and traded momentum in a set that featured multiple ties before St. Mary-Woods pulled away late to take a 2-0 advantage.
Offensively, Greenville received a big night from
Carson Hulsey, who led all Panthers with nine kills while hitting an efficient .412.
Tyrone Ealy added seven kills on .045 hitting, while
Cortez Christmas chipped in four kills.
Greenville also showed consistency in serve-receive and defense, finishing with 21 digs as a team.
John Heater V paced the offense with 16 assists, while
Kevin McGhee Jr. added six.
The Panthers will look to build on their strong second-set performance as they continue their season.
