Men's basketball battles to the buzzer against Lyon

Box Score GREENVILLE, Ill. - Greenville men's basketball delivered an electric second-half performance but narrowly fell 118–114 to Lyon on Saturday afternoon at H.J. Long Gymnasium.

How it Happened:

After trailing 59–48 at halftime, the Panthers erupted for 66 points in the second half, cutting into the deficit and pushing the SLIAC contender down to the final possessions.

Greenville shot nearly 49 percent after the break and consistently attacked the paint, turning defense into offense to keep the crowd engaged throughout the comeback.

Elliot Mobley led the Panthers with 25 points and five rebounds, while Joshua Williford followed with 23 points and eight boards in an efficient outing.

Elijah Goad added 14 points, and Tim Lofton made a major impact on both ends with 12 points, nine rebounds, and six steals. Greenville also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 28 points off Lyon miscues.

Despite the result, Greenville's energy, depth, and second-half execution highlighted the team's growth as conference play continues.
