EUREKA, Ill. - Greenville earned a hard-fought 70–54 road victory over Eureka on Monday evening at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena, improving to 5-13 overall and 4-5 in SLIAC play. The contest was tightly contested early, with Eureka holding a slim 19–18 edge after the first quarter, but Greenville began to seize control with a strong second-half surge.
How it Happened:
After trailing by one after the first period, Greenville delivered its best stretch in the third quarter, shooting 58.3 percent from the field while outscoring the Red Devils 22–17.
The Panthers' defensive pressure and rebounding advantage proved decisive, as Greenville finished with a commanding 45–33 edge on the boards and held Eureka to just 32.1 percent shooting for the game.
Mia DeJesus led Greenville with 13 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double, while
Morgan Alexander added 11 points on an efficient 4-for-5 shooting.
Adeline Goheen chipped in 10 points off the bench as Greenville pulled away late to secure the conference road win.
