GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team earned a thrilling 71–70 victory over Blackburn on Wednesday evening at H.J. Long Gymnasium, pulling out a hard-fought SLIAC win. The Panthers led for much of the night, building slim advantages in each of the first three quarters before surviving a tense final period.
How it Happened:
Greenville opened with a 17–16 edge after one and found its rhythm offensively in the second quarter, shooting 50 percent to take a 38–31 halftime lead. The Panthers continued to control the game in the third, outscoring Blackburn 20–18 to carry a nine-point cushion into the final frame.
Blackburn made a late push, trimming the deficit in the closing minutes, but Greenville's composure at the free-throw line proved decisive. The Panthers finished 10-of-12 from the stripe and dominated the paint with 44 points inside.

Alyssa Seymour led the Panthers, putting up thirteen points each. Seymour collected a double-double with her eleven rebounds.
Greenville also received a major boost from its bench, which outscored Blackburn's reserves 38–23, helping secure the one-point victory.4
