FULTON, Mo. - The women's basketball team battled with resilience on the road Wednesday evening but fell 68–55 to Westminster in SLIAC action. Despite an early deficit, the Panthers showed steady improvement as the game progressed, outscoring the Blue Jays 19–10 in the third quarter to cut into the margin and showcase their defensive growth.
How it Happened:
Amelia Shoemaker led Greenville with 13 points, while
Alyssa Seymour added an efficient 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting and grabbed five rebounds.
Mia deJesus provided a spark off the bench, finishing with 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds, helping Greenville control the glass with 36 total rebounds.
The Panthers also found success in transition, scoring 14 fast-break points and 19 points from their bench.
Although Westminster pulled away in the fourth quarter, Greenville's effort and balance were evident throughout the night. With continued defensive pressure and improved shooting consistency, the Panthers will look to build on the positives from this performance as SLIAC play continues.
