EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The women's cross country team opened its season with a 5k at WashU on Saturday, placing third with
Norah Atkins at the lead. The Panthers ran against some tough competition but posted some strong times for the start of the season.
How it Happened:
Atkins placed 31st with a 20:13.8, while
Alexis Martinez trailed closely in 33rd (20:29.8).
There was a tight group of Panthers in the middle of the pack, claiming 40th-44th place.
Alivia Clayton led at 40th with a 21:12.0, and
Natali Roth got 42nd with 21:36.5.
Raven Vance (22:08.6) and
Lydia Cahill (22:19.4) were close behind in 43rd and 44th.
