GREENVILLE, Ill. – The women's soccer team secured a 2-0 win at home Friday afternoon, powered by a pair of second-half goals and a composed defensive effort. Senior goalkeeper
Madison Ashford earned a clean sheet with multiple saves, while
Jordyn Smith and
Ava Pollard each found the back of the net to lift the Panthers.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Greenville controlled much of the tempo early, generating several corner kicks and testing the Harris-Stowe goalkeeper with well-placed shots. Despite dominating possession and pace, the Panthers went into the half tied 0-0, with Ashford making key saves to keep the match scoreless.
2nd Half
The Panthers broke through just three minutes after the restart. In the 48th minute, Smith buried a goal off an assist from
Allyson Schulz to put Greenville in front.
The team continued to press, and in the 75th minute, Pollard extended the lead with a clean finish, assisted by
Maddie Cooke.
Ashford remained steady in goal, turning away every shot to seal the shutout victory
