Women's volleyball dominates with SLIAC sweep on Saturday

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Greenville volleyball delivered a powerful statement on Saturday, sweeping both MUW and Eureka at H.J. Long Gymnasium to extend its winning streak and remain unbeaten in SLIAC play.

How it Happened:

In the morning match, the Panthers rolled past MUW 25-14, 25-15, 25-17. Greenville's offense was steady and efficient, led by Elaina Evers with eleven kills.

Setter Emma Ratermann controlled the tempo with 26 assists and added thirteen digs, while Claudia Bonacorsi sparked from the service line with three aces.

At the net, Lainey Hicks tallied five blocks to help hold MUW to just .047 hitting.

The momentum carried into the afternoon as Greenville dismantled Eureka 25-12, 25-8, 25-17. The Panthers' attack was unstoppable, hitting .419 as a team.

Senior standout Mia deJesus shined with nine kills on a blistering .692 efficiency and six block assists.

Evers again added nine kills, while Ratermann dished out 35 assists and three aces.

Balanced contributions across the lineup, including five kills apiece from Kennedy Legendre and Brooklynn Slusser, highlighted Greenville's depth.

With the two sweeps, Greenville improves to 9-6 overall and 4-0 in SLIAC play, establishing themselves as a conference frontrunner heading into October.

With her amazing performance, deJesus earned herself SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
