BLACKBURN, Ill. – The Greenville women's soccer team put together a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 10-0 win over conference Blackburn. The Panthers controlled possession from the opening whistle and showcased depth across the roster in one of their most complete outings of the season.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Greenville wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Ashlie Cabral netted a goal just 30 seconds in off a setup from
Peyton Turner.
The Panthers continued to apply pressure, with Kylie Petroski scoring in the 29th minute before
Allyson Schulz added a third just three minutes later off an assist from
Maddie Cooke.
Greenville's attack fired twelve shots on goal in the opening frame while holding Blackburn without a shot until late in the half.
2nd Half
The Panthers kept their foot on the gas. Cabral tallied her second of the game in the 52nd minute, and moments later, she added another goal to make it 5-0. Schulz completed her hat trick with goals in the 57th and 64th minutes.
Savannah Haas,
Mia Long, and
Avery Rahden each added late goals, capping off the scoring barrage.
Madison Ashford earned the shutout in goal.
