Women's soccer celebrates seniors with 5-1 win over Webster

GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Greenville women's soccer team delivered a 5–1 victory over Webster on Saturday afternoon in front of a home crowd, capping off Senior Day with a statement win. The Panthers got off to a quick start and played well as a team to take control early and give their seniors a day to remember.

How it Happened:

1st Half

Greenville got off to a dream start, striking just 36 seconds into the match. Senior Ashlie Johnston Cabral opened the scoring off a setup from Allyson Schulz.

Johnston Cabral found the back of the net again just five minutes later, finishing a pass from Brady Unger to double the lead.

The Panthers kept up the pressure, and in the 24th minute, Jordyn Smith buried a third goal off a beautiful combination from Katelyn Christensen and Kylie Petroski.

Webster managed to get on the board with a penalty kick in the 38th minute, but Greenville answered quickly as Petroski scored just two minutes later to make it 4–1 at the break.

2nd Half

The Panthers closed out the match strong. In the 70th minute, Angie Russo finished off a chance created by Christensen to seal the 5–1 win.
