GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Greenville women's soccer team delivered a strong all-around effort at home, cruising to a 3-0 victory over Millikin in one of their last non-conference match ups. The Panthers controlled the pace from start to finish and capitalized on key scoring opportunities.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Greenville struck first in the 21st minute when
Angie Russo scored off an assist from
Allyson Schulz.
The Panthers continued to press, with Ashlie Cabral adding a second goal at the 32nd minute assisted by
Avery Rahden.
Greenville's offense was active, with shots from
Jordyn Smith and
Maddie Cooke testing the Millikin goalkeeper, while Ashford made multiple saves to keep the opposition off the board.
2nd Half
Early in the second half,
Dillyn Baer found the net off an assist from Kylie Petroski at 48:31.
Greenville maintained control throughout, with Ashford making a total of eight saves on shots from Millikin as the Panthers held firm defensively and dictated the pace for the remainder of the match.
