SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Greenville University women's soccer team showed strong determination on the road, falling 3-0 to Sewanee in a tough non-conference match up. Senior goalkeeper
Madison Ashford delivered a standout performance with fifteen saves, keeping the Panthers competitive throughout the game.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Greenville absorbed early pressure as Ashford made several key saves to hold off Sewanee's attack. Kylie Petroski recorded the Panthers' first shot in the 8th minute, while substitutions brought fresh energy to the pitch.
Despite strong defensive play, Greenville trailed 1-0 at the break.
2nd Half
The Panthers created more chances in the second half, including a near-goal by
Idaly Valenzuela that hit the crossbar.
Katelyn Christensen added a shot on target, but Greenville couldn't break through the Sewanee defense.
However, Sewanee put up two more goals in the second half that Greenville couldn't combat.
