PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The football team earned a dramatic 29-28 road victory over Lakeland on Saturday afternoon. A clutch fourth-quarter touchdown and a successful two-point conversion helped the Panthers rally from behind and secure their first win of the season. Greenville's defense came through in critical moments, while the offense delivered under pressure.
How it Happened:
Lakeland opened the scoring with a touchdown in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead. Greenville quickly answered, as
Max Lynch led a sharp drive capped off by a receiving touchdown from
Benjamin Cordova to tie the game at 7-7 heading into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Lynch found
Shemari Thomas downfield for a big gain, setting up an
Xavien Moody touchdown to give Greenville a 14-7 lead. Lakeland responded just before halftime, evening the score at 14-14.
Lakeland regained the lead early in the third quarter, but the Panthers answered right back with a balanced offensive drive. Lynch punched in his second rushing touchdown of the day to tie the game at 21-21.
In the fourth, Lakeland capitalized on a Greenville turnover to take a 28-21 lead. But the Panthers didn't flinch.

Rather than trying to just tie it up, Greenville went for two. Lynch ran the ball into the end zone to complete the conversion and give the Panthers a 29-28 lead with under two minutes remaining.
The Panther defense sealed the win with a clutch stand on Lakeland's final drive.
Jaden Morales led the unit with twelve total tackles, while
Samuel Benavidez added eleven of his own.
Elias Velasquez made a significant impact in the backfield with nine tackles and two sacks, helping shut down Lakeland's final push.
Will Giffen added a timely sack late in the fourth quarter to help preserve the win.
