Softball is 10-0 after crushing UHSP

AFFTON, Mo. – The softball team knocked UHSP out of the water after taking both games in their Thursday evening doubleheader. The Panthers improved to 10-0 on the season after the 8-2 and 10-1 victories.

How it Happened:

Game 1

A five-run second inning set the tone for the Panthers. Greenville capitalized on early defensive errors by UHSP, scoring twice in the second inning on an error before Natalee Moore delivered a bases-clearing triple to extend the lead to 5-0.

The Panthers tacked on two more in the third and an insurance run in the sixth to secure the win.

Moore led the offense with a 4-for-4 performance, including two doubles, a triple, and three RBIs.

Sarah Salas dominated in the circle, striking out nine over six innings while allowing just two runs and earning the win.

Game 2

A late offensive surge in the fourth and fifth innings propelled Greenville to their 10-1 win.

UHSP struck first in the opening inning, but Greenville's bats came alive in the fourth, highlighted by an RBI double from Salas and a two-run single from Emma Longcor.

A daring baserunning play by Longcor and a triple from Josie Grunloh extended the lead to 5-1.

The Panthers kept rolling in the fifth, capitalizing on a wild pitch, an RBI single from Madi Case, and key extra-base hits.

Longcor led Greenville's offense with three RBIs, while pitcher Melissa Bernal shut down UHSP, allowing just four hits over five innings.

Up Next:

The Panthers (10-0) host Rose-Hulman on Saturday for a 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
