ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's basketball team faced a tough road test Wednesday night at WashU, falling 91–32 to a sharp-shooting Bears squad, but the Panthers continued to show resilience and steady effort throughout the matchup.
How it Happened:
Greenville opened with competitive energy, matching WashU's physicality early and getting key perimeter production from
Morgan Alexander, who led the Panthers with eight points on 3-of-7 shooting, including two threes.
Amelia Shoemaker added five points and six rebounds, helping Greenville battle on the boards against one of the region's most disciplined frontcourts.
Cortney Brummer contributed four points and a team-high seven rebounds, providing strong interior presence and second-effort plays that kept Greenville competing possession by possession.
Despite the Bears' explosive second half, the Panthers maintained their defensive intensity and continued to work through their offensive sets, gaining valuable experience against a top-tier opponent. With multiple young contributors seeing extended minutes, Greenville's growth and depth continue to trend upward as they turn their focus toward SLIAC play.
