GREENVILLE, Ill. – Greenville women's soccer capped off Homecoming weekend with a dominant 2–0 victory over Spalding University on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers took the Golden Eagles down to claim the top spot in conference.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Greenville controlled possession early, creating multiple chances through sharp passing and strong wing play.
Katelyn Christensen and
Dillyn Baer each forced saves from Spalding's goalkeeper, while
Madison Ashford made key stops to keep the match scoreless entering halftime.
2nd Half
The Panthers broke through in the 60th minute when
Dillyn Baer converted a nicely delivered corner kick from
Alexis Romeo, Moments later,
Allyson Schulz doubled Greenville's lead to put the game out of reach. Greenville maintained pressure and composure for the remainder of the match, with Ashford securing the clean sheet.
