GREENVILLE, Ill. – Greenville men's soccer earned a decisive 2-0 win over Eureka on Wednesday evening, fueled by first-half goals from
Richard Kerwer and
William Carlson Webb and a strong defensive performance led by goalkeeper
Tian Poyo.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Greenville came out aggressively, generating early chances including multiple shots. The Panthers found the breakthrough in the 15th minute when
Richard Kerwer buried a shot off a perfect setup from
Andres Garcia.
Just eight minutes later,
William Carlson Webb doubled the lead with a composed finish to make it 2-0.
Greenville continued to control possession, forcing multiple saves from the Eureka keeper and holding firm defensively.
2nd Half
The Panthers kept up the pressure after halftime, recording several more shots while keeping Eureka's offense quiet.
Tian Poyo made key saves to preserve the clean sheet, and Greenville's depth was on display with strong minutes from the bench.
The Panthers closed out the match, securing the conference win.
