ELSAH, Ill. – The men's soccer team put together a disciplined and determined effort on Saturday afternoon, earning a hard-fought 0–0 draw against Principia.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Greenville faced early adversity but responded with composure and focus. Goalkeeper
Tian Poyo made a key save on a Principia penalty in the second minute before
Dominick Messer entered the match and took over in net. Messer quickly settled in, making a series of strong saves to keep the game level.
The Panthers created attacking opportunities of their own with shots from
Izan Gonzalez Rivera,
Andres Garcia, and
William Carlson Webb testing the Principia keeper.
Defensively, Greenville remained well-organized and limited Principia's looks at goal throughout the half.
2nd Half
The Panthers continued to defend with discipline and showed patience in possession. Messer remained sharp between the posts, recording multiple saves as Principia pushed forward.
Greenville nearly broke the deadlock with late efforts from
Manolo Juarez and
Guilherme Macedo, closing out a determined performance with a well-earned result on the road.
