GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team claimed their ninth SLIAC Tournament Championship title after defeating Webster 3-1 in the semi-finals and crushing Fontbonne 3-0 in the championship game.

Semi-Finals vs. Webster
Led by Abby Grohmann's 21 kills and a stellar .294 hitting percentage, the Panthers set the tone early with dominant 25-17 and 25-20 wins in the first two sets.
Despite a setback in the third set, Greenville responded with a decisive 25-21 fourth-set victory. Setter Emma Ratermann orchestrated the offense with 47 assists, while Lainey Hicks contributed 12 kills at a scorching .571 clip.
Championship vs. Fontbonne
The Panthers asserted their control early, winning 25-13 and 25-16 before closing out a tightly contested third set, 26-24.
Grohmann spearheaded the attack with 16 kills, hitting .342, while Hicks added eight kills and four blocks.
Ratermann set up the offense well with 33 assists, and the Panthers' defense, led by Lucia Garcia's 22 digs, stifled Fontbonne throughout.
This win stamps Greenville's name in the books as 2024 SLIAC Tournament Champions. Garcia and Hicks picked up All-Tournament team honors, and Grohmann was named the SLIAC Tournament MVP.

The Panthers (21-9, 14-2 SLIAC) head to the 2024 NCAA Division III tournament. They will find out their opponents during the selection show at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The first round of regionals will be played on Thursday, November 21st.
