MONMOUTH, Ill. - The women's basketball team gained their first two wins of the season at this weekend's Monmouth (Ill.) tournament. The Panthers rallied in the final minutes to defeat Illinois College 67-64 and pulled it off against Monmouth, winning 69-62.

Game 1 vs. IC
Greenville overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Illinois College. Trailing by 10 at the break, the Panthers found their rhythm in the second half, outscoring the Blueboys 41-33.
A dominant 23-point fourth quarter and clutch free-throw shooting (67.7%) in the final minutes propelled Greenville to victory.
Savana Powell-Goodman led the charge with 20 points, while Alyssa Seymour added 10 points and six rebounds.
Game 2 vs. Monmouth
Greenville pulled away in the second half to defeat Monmouth. After trailing 17-11 in the first quarter, the Panthers stormed back with a strong 21-point second quarter to take control.
Alyssa Seymour led Greenville with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Savana Powell-Goodman added 14 points.
Greenville shot effectively with a 40.7 field goal percentage and capitalized on a solid free-throw performance (71.9%) to secure the victory.
