BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Greenville University football team erased multiple deficits and scored the game-winning touchdown with just 37 seconds remaining as the Panthers stunned Lyon College, 33-32, Saturday night at Bad Boy Mowers Stadium.
The victory moves Greenville to 1-2 overall heading into conference play and showcased the Panthers' resilience in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead changes and more than 950 combined yards of offense.
Lyon built an early 14-0 advantage before Greenville found its rhythm offensively. The Panthers got on the board midway through the second quarter when
Trevion Taylor broke free for a 35-yard touchdown run, capping a quick five-play, 75-yard drive.
After Lyon extended its lead to 17-7, Greenville struck with one of the game's biggest plays. Quarterback

Lyon answered with nine straight points to regain control and eventually pushed its lead to 32-19 early in the fourth quarter. Facing a 13-point deficit, Greenville refused to go away.
A methodical 13-play, 78-yard drive ended with
Trey Mason's three-yard touchdown run to pull the Panthers within six.
After the defense forced a crucial stop, Dewberry engineered one final drive.
With Greenville facing fourth-and-17 near midfield, Dewberry delivered a clutch 41-yard completion to
Logan Keith to keep the drive alive. Moments later, he found
Kareem Burns for a 15-yard touchdown with 37 seconds left, and
Derek De Haan's extra point gave the Panthers a dramatic 33-32 advantage.
The defense sealed the victory on Lyon's final possession. After the Scots moved into long field-goal range,
Jamarion Cobbins came through with a game-saving blocked 50-yard field goal attempt as time expired.
