LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The softball team advances to the championship game of the SLIAC tournament after defeating Wesminster 6-0 in a round two semifinal game on Friday afternoon.
How it Happened:
The Panthers hopped out to an early lead against the Blue Jays, scoring two runs in the first from a base-clearing, 2 RBI double from
Makenna Budde.
In the bottom of the third,
Emma Longcor led the inning off with a stand up double before
Anna Cox drove her in with a sacrifice fly to right to make it 3-0.
GU tacked on two more insurance runs in the fourth and another in the sixth to solidify the win.
Longcor and
Ashlyn Colvis paced the offense with three hits apiece, while Salas earned the win in the circle after an impressive outing. Salas threw a complete game, allowing only three hits and striking out fourteen!

The Panthers (30-10, 13-3 SLIAC) will play in the championship game tomorrow at 3:00 p.m., looking to earn their third consecutive conference tournament title.
