MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Baseball split a Saturday doubleheader with Huntingdon, highlighted by a dominant game one shutout and a resilient offensive showing in the second game.
How it Happened:
The Panthers were nearly flawless in the opener, rolling to a 10-0 victory behind a complete team effort. Greenville struck early with two runs in the first and never looked back, piling up 12 hits.
Bryce Hayes led the charge, going 3-for-4 with a double, home run, and four RBIs.
Snyder Pennington and
Colton Oelze each added multi-hit performances, while
Jalen Inlow contributed two hits and two stolen bases.
On the mound, Greenville's pitching staff combined for a one-hit shutout.
Brady Weitzel earned the win in relief, while five Panthers arms limited Huntingdon to just one hit and two walks.
In game two, Greenville showed fight despite a 13-9 loss. After falling behind early, the Panthers rallied with a five-run sixth inning to cut into the deficit.
Joseph Guzman starred, going 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored, while Inlow and
Landyn Smith each drove in multiple runs.
Greenville's offense totaled nine runs and drew 11 walks, continuing to pressure Huntingdon throughout the game.
