FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Greenville men's volleyball team put together a strong showing on Saturday, earning a pair of wins with a thrilling five-set victory over Franklin followed by a dominant sweep of Rockford.
How it Happened:
In the opener, the Panthers battled through a tightly contested match to defeat Franklin 3-2. Greenville came out strong, taking the first two sets 25-23 and 25-21 behind a balanced offensive attack. After Franklin responded by winning the next two sets, the Panthers regrouped in the fifth set, closing out a 15-10 win.
Tyrone Ealy led the charge with 14 kills and five blocks, while
Carson Hulsey added 13 kills and three service aces.
Kevin McGhee Jr. directed the offense with 27 assists, and
Jay Ramirez anchored the defense with 11 digs.
Greenville carried that energy into its second match, sweeping Rockford in straight sets (25-10, 25-17, 25-16). The Panthers were efficient and in control throughout, hitting an impressive .299 as a team.
Cortez Christmas led the offense with eight kills, while
Spencer Kelmel contributed seven.
Andrew Weir controlled the net with four blocks, and the Panthers' defense limited Rockford to a negative hitting percentage.
With the two victories, Greenville showed resilience, depth, and consistency, building momentum as the season nears the end.
