Men's volleyball honors seniors with phenomenal play

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Men's volleyball Senior Day honored Sam Molitor and Jay Ramirez in H.J. Long Gymnasium with a tri-match featuring Eureka and Augustana (IL). The Panthers started off with an early dub over the Red Devils, followed by a gritty home closer against the Vikings.

How it Happened:

In the opening match, the Panthers dominated against the Red Devils with a strong all-around offense. Greenville showed up with aggression and energy to pull out with a 3-1 win over Eureka.

Three Panthers carried the load ending with double digit kills: Carson Hulsey led the way with 16 kills, Tyrone Ealy with 15, and Sam Molitor with 11; showing no signs of slowing down.

Kevin McGhee Jr. set up the offense with 44 total assists, and Jay Ramirez led the back row with 19 digs. The Panthers resulted with a total of 51 kills on a .256 hitting percentage, four solo blocks and 21 block assists, and 48 digs. 

In the second match versus Augustana, the Panthers faced a strong front row Viking but showed true potential. 

Ealy led the Panthers with a double-double of 16 kills and 14 digs. Hulsey added 11 kills and Molitor with 10. The team finished with a total of 50 kills off of 45 assists from McGhee Jr. 

Defensively, libero Ramirez also contributed 12 digs and Andrew Weir added 4 block assists to the Panthers 14 total blocks.

The Panthers move to 5-12 overall, continuing to piece things together as they are nearing the end of their season.

The Panthers (5-12) travel to Franklin College for yet another tri-match with Franklin and Rockford.
