DAVENPORT, Fla. - Despite falling 8–2 to Penn State–Abington on Wednesday, Greenville showed flashes of promise at the plate and resilience on the mound during a seven-inning contest. The game was called in the bottom of the seventh due to unsafe field conditions.
How it Happened:
The Panthers struck first in the opening inning when
Snyder Pennington delivered an RBI single to center field, bringing home
Joseph Guzman for an early 1–0 lead. Guzman paced Greenville offensively, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, an RBI, and a stolen base.
Penn State–Abington answered with a big first and second inning to build momentum, but Greenville continued to battle throughout the game.
Jalen Inlow sparked the Panthers with a triple and later scored, while Guzman added an RBI double in the sixth inning to cut into the deficit.
On the mound,
Luke McBee provided a steady middle relief effort, allowing just one run over 3.1 innings while inducing several ground outs.
Greenville collected six hits overall and showed offensive potential as the Panthers continue their early-season schedule.
