GREENVILLE, Ill. -Â Greenville men's volleyball showed flashes of fight Thursday night, but visiting Lakeland pulled away for a 3-0 win (25-15, 25-17, 25-21) at H.J. Long Gymnasium.
How it Happened:
The Panthers faced an early deficit in the opening two sets, but responded with their best stretch of the match in the third. Greenville tightened up defensively, extended rallies, and forced Lakeland into longer points before the Muskies closed the door late.
Tyrone Ealy led the Panthers with 10 kills, while
Carson Hulsey added eight.
Andrew Weir and
Kevin McGhee Jr. each chipped in five kills as Greenville continued to spread the offense.
Setter
John Heater V posted 28 assists and helped Greenville find rhythm in the final set.
Defensively, Greenville was active at the net and in the back row, totaling 28 digs. Despite the result, the Panthers' third-set push showed the fight and progress of the squad as the season continues.
