Estevez earns 100th win after softball has dominant 4-0 opening weekend

BRANSON, Mo. - The Greenville softball team opened its 2026 campaign in dominant fashion, going a perfect 4-0 over the weekend with wins against St. Mary (Kan.), Mission, Graceland (Iowa), and Evangel (Mo.). The Panthers showcased explosive offense and clutch pitching throughout the four-game stretch. Head Coach Ivan Estevez claims 100 wins on his coaching record with these victories!

How it Happened:

Greenville began with an 11-1 rout of St. Mary, highlighted by Brooklyn Garrett's two home runs and six RBIs. Anna Cox also homered, while Sarah Salas earned the win in the circle. Rylee Bloomer also contributed heavily at the top of the lineup, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. GU took the game in five innings, short gaming the Spires.

The Panthers followed with an 8-1 victory over Mission, using a six-run fourth inning to pull away. Kayla Kocher picked up the win, and Salas added a two-run blast at the plate. Garrett and Cox were dominant forces again at the plate, both collecting two hits with Garrett adding two RBIs.

On Saturday, Greenville rallied past Graceland 7-5, scoring three runs in the seventh to complete the comeback. Bloomer tallied four hits, and Morgan Kehl secured the win in relief. The Panthers closed the weekend with a 7-1 statement win over Evangel, as Salas tossed a complete game and Greenville drew 10 walks to stay unbeaten.

Up Next:

The Panthers (4-0) travel to Millikin next Friday before return to Greenville for their home opener against Ripon.
