GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Greenville baseball team showcased resilience and explosive offense in a three-game weekend series against Loras, bouncing back from a tough opener to claim the final two contests and win the series at home.
How it Happened:
Loras took game one 15-8 despite a strong offensive effort from the Panthers.
Landyn Smith went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while
Alejandro Martinez added a three-run homer as part of a four-run third inning. Greenville later rallied with four runs in the fifth, but Loras pulled away late.
The Panthers responded in game two with a thrilling 10-9 comeback victory. Trailing 7-4 entering the eighth, Greenville erupted for six runs, highlighted by
Bryce Hayes' go-ahead three-run homer.
Kale Cameron earned the win in relief, and
Jonathan Bowser secured the save to seal the comeback.
Greenville dominated the finale 16-4 behind a 17-hit attack.
Joseph Guzman tallied four hits and four runs scored, while
Jalen Inlow launched a three-run homer and drove in four.
Jacob Cody picked up the win on the mound, striking out seven over five strong innings as the Panthers secured the series victory.
