FULTON, Mo. – The Greenville women's basketball team battled to the final possession in a tightly contested SLIAC Quarterfinal matchup Wednesday night, falling just short to Westminster (Mo.) 57-55. The Panthers conclude their season at 9-17 overall after a resilient postseason effort.
How it Happened:
Greenville showed grit throughout, overcoming a ten-point halftime deficit by outscoring Westminster 32-24 in the second half. The Panthers' defense tightened in the fourth quarter, holding the Blue Jays to just 12 points while mounting a late comeback.
Mya Mann led Greenville with 13 points off the bench, while Alyssa Seymour added 12 points and went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Mia deJesus contributed 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds to anchor the effort on the glass.
Greenville forced 16 turnovers and generated 24 bench points, keeping pressure on Westminster until the final buzzer. Though the result didn't fall their way, the Panthers' fight and determination highlighted a competitive quarterfinal performance.
