CINCINNATI, Ohio - Greenville men's volleyball opened its Saturday at the Harrington Center with a strong statement, earning a 3–1 victory over Franklin before wrapping up the day against a tough Mt. St. Joseph squad.
How it Happened:
In the opener, Greenville shook off an early stumble to defeat Franklin 25-12, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22. After dropping the second set, the Panthers responded with poise and balance, hitting .236 as a team and controlling the tempo the rest of the way.
Tyrone Ealy led the attack with 15 kills on an efficient .375 hitting percentage, while
Andrew Weir added 10 kills and consistent play at the net.
Carson Hulsey chipped in eight kills, and Greenville's blocking presence helped limit Franklin to a .136 attack percentage. The Panthers' ability to side out late proved decisive in sets three and four.
Greenville faced a quick turnaround against Mt. St. Joseph and battled throughout the match, but ultimately fell 3–0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-16).
Ealy again paced the offense with 10 kills with a .304 hitting percentage, and the Panthers showed resilience early in each set before the Lions pulled away behind timely serving and steady offense.
Despite the setback, Greenville finished the day competing with energy and flashes of depth, continuing to build momentum early in the season.
