GREENVILLE, Ill. - Men's basketball outlasted MUW in a thrilling 141–137 overtime victory Thursday night at H.J. Long Gymnasium, handing the Panthers a signature SLIAC win in front of a packed gym. The contest was tight from the opening tip, with both teams deadlocked 61–61 at halftime and again after regulation at 126–126.
How it Happened:
The Panthers leaned on a balanced, explosive attack to seal the win in overtime, outscoring MUW 15–11 in the extra period.
Joshua Williford led Greenville with 32 points, knocking down four three-pointers and setting the tone offensively.
Taiemm Comeaux added a huge spark off the bench with 20 points, while
Elliot Mobley (19) and
Elijah Goad (15) provided steady support.
Greenville's depth proved decisive, as the Panthers dominated bench scoring 56–10 and forced timely turnovers late. The win improves Greenville to 7–12 overall and 5–5 in SLIAC play, giving the Panthers momentum as they push through the heart of the conference schedule.
